Hi Kayelle. The villain that rivets my soul most and in the absolutely darkest mode comes straight out of my own life experience. I tried to write him once but I backed off on the portrayal. I didn’t have the nerve to go deep down under to soulless soul level. It proved to me that I was still afraid of him – terrified even – and he’s the experience that taught me how imperative it is to rise above what you fear. I have followed that lesson ever since in life and in my work. But apparently I cannot yet do it with him. I pray for the time to come when that is no longer the case. It will be a huge rite of passage for me. Cross fingers for me – my dear writer friend – that I may pass over that threshhold someday. Meanwhile you and I shall both… Keep on Writing Whatever May Occur. Love ya. Alice

It gets old in a hurry. I’ve never liked villains who hurt people just because they feel like it. There’s no motivation, therefore I can’t connect.
One of my favorite villains of all time is Prince Nuada from the movie Hellboy 2: the Golden Army. He was truly a bad guy. He killed his own father, and was willing to do anything to win. But why? Because he saw his father’s gentleness as giving up and no longer protecting their people. Nuada was truly a bad guy, but he was noble and true to his beliefs. He deserved to be a king. He refused to compromise his ideals. I connected to him with no trouble. It didn’t hurt that he was portrayed by actor Luke Goss, one of my all time favorites. 😉
