Hi Kayelle. I love calling this character type a Mary Sue. I love even more the insight you give here into what you do working with sci-fi fantasy scenarios. The cosmic possibilities. You cannot only reach back into a character’s lifetime and come up with the bugaboo experiences that refuse to die and continue to disrupt. You can reach back millenia or gallactic life spans. You can make what has marred this character a force in or of the universe. Talk about immense odds to grapple with. The struggle that makes the story thud and hammer in the consciousness of the reader as well as the character. That is primo material to have at your fingertips. And you definitely have the deftness to manipulate it with maximum storytelling skill. Thank you so much for your insight into that. Makes me wonder if I need to rethink the depth of past emotional vampires in my own characters’ histories. That’s a rethinking that could benefit any writer and her stories. May be another post in there as well. Love and Blessings. Alice

Hi Janet. I almost put a paragraph into the post about that. Resurrecting a character. I may do a separate post about it entirely thanks to your inspiration. I need to think back into the memory bank for a time I did that myself. The why, the how, all of it. I will drop a character sometimes because I just don’t like her. Resurrection possible there also sometimes. In fact I am playing with one of those a bit now. Keep picking the story up and putting it down again. Maybe I can almost kill her off then save her and she has something of a transformation that makes her more compelling. Thanks so much for the hearty breakfast of thought you have served me this morning. Wow how I miss conversations with writers like you. Imagination imagination imagination you have. Sparks mine and everybody else’s. Love and Blessings. Alice
